I was wondering if anyone had experience with Red Heart 100% Acrylic after washing did it make it softer? Currently I'm making a scarf but it's rather think and rough like a blanket and too late to change yarn.

I haven't used Red Heart since I first started knitting, but it does get softer. It is a pain to knit with, though.

I made several baby blankets last year with diff RH yarns and all got soft and fluffy after drying in dryer.

They do get soft after washing, but they are just a pain to knit with. In my opinion, of course.

The projects that I have made have gotten a little softer each time it has been washed. Don't know if it makes any difference or not, but I use Dreft (the baby detergent) and whatever fabric softener that I have on hand and use a dryer sheet too.
