Chel, I was gifted some Salsa from Dancing Leaf Farms at Christmas time. I'm used to knitting socks from fingering weight yarn (at around 8.5-9.0 stitches/inch) and Salsa is not. I'm curious what your gauge is with the Salsa and what size needles you are using? The Gentleman's Fancy socks is a great pattern--I have a pair that's almost finished made from Trekking 108. I shortened the pattern repeat by a couple of rows because I like shorter socks. You are absolutely right, they have such great texture and fit quite well.

Kaidy,
My gauge is 18 stitches and 22 rows to 2 inches. The pattern for the GF socks states gauge should be 18 stitches and 24 rows to 2 inches.
It was very nice that you were given this yarn. Someone must absolutely adore you!!! LOL May I ask what colorway you received?
I too am making mine shorter. In fact I only did the cuff and 3 pattern repeats before starting the heel flap. Oh, I also modified the heel flap to a French heel. I just like the rounded appearance better.

hey Chel- those are looking fabulous! I love the texture of the pattern and the yarn colors together. they are going to be great.
Well, I have the gussets done, now onto the foot. :cheering:
Thanks for all the kind comments guys!
KristinW- I would look at More Sensational Knitted Socks too. While Knitting Vintage Socks has some LOVELY patterns, I think MSKS has a better variety and adjusts easier for different sized feet. More bang for your buck IMO.
