View Full Version : Malabrigo and Scarves

I was thinking to buy individual hanks of Malabrigo to knit up some scarves for quick holiday gifts. The yardage is 215. Is this enough for a long thin (maybe 5") scarf? I like scarves on the longer side.

Hope everyone is having a nice day:hug:

I made a scarf out of malabrigo and it turned out too short with just one hank. it was wider than 5", but I still think one hank of malabrigo is too short for a scarf unless you go with garter stitch.

Thanks for the reply. I doubled the order just to be safe...

It would definitely not be too long if you made it 5" wide. If you went for more of a skinny scarf (like maybe 3") you should get some good length out of it. Otherwise I would plan on about 1 1/2 skeins per scarf. If you wanted to gift the same color to 2 people you could get 3 of each color and that should be enough for 2 good size scarves.

Good for you for thinking about the holidays! :cheering:

I was going to suggest same as Kristin- get 3 skeins and make 2 scarves.

I made a single repeat feather and fan and it is shorter than i like but still usable. i agree... 3 for 2 scarves would probably be perfect.
