OK, so I was laying my daughter down for nap today and there was a big moth staring back at me from her mini blinds!!!! ACCKKK!!! I do remember seeing a month flying around in our garage yesterday... it might be that the same one snuck in at some point... our main entry to the house is through the garage.

Most of my stash is in bags or plastic bins, but I do have some out in the open.

Do I need to worry???

It may just be one random moth and not even a moth that eats wool, but I'd check your stash anyway. Then seal up the wool in ziplocs. My acrylics are in a bin, but the wool is in a giant ziploc.

ETA: I just found these articles.

Just be sure to dress the kids and any pets in nice, tasty wool and have them keep moving. That should keep the moth distracted and away from your stash.

If the moth was stationary and had its wings spread out, you can be pretty sure it was NOT a clothes moth. Webbing clothes moths (the most common) and casemaking clothes moths both have wings that lie along the body when they are not flying. Any that fly are males, the females run and hop.
