I have avoided fairisle knitting for the whole 4 or so years I have been knitting. After this I don't see why I was avoiding it! I had tried some swatches a few times but it just always looked overwelming to me. This wasn't that awful at all!

It's knit using the Ann Norling Strawberry fruit hats pattern, I just left out the seeds and used orange instead of red :) I also plan to knit a cute little 1 skein bolero to match. It's a halloween outfit :)

That is just adorable. I have that pattern but as yet have not made anything. Maybe you will inspire me.

:teehee: I bought that pattern too. I even bought 5 hanks of yarn to make them. All different colors. But am afraid of the color change/pattern.

Yours came out great.

Michelle just go for it, I've been avoiding color changes for FOUR years of knitting now, and it was oddly easy! I will say the pattern is dumb cause it says to SWITCH to DPNs before the colorwork, DONT, wait until you reach the first decrease row to switch to DPN's, I have no idea why they tell you to do it before then but its dumb abd makes it harder, and I still managed a good result on the DPNs with color changes!! I'm very happy I took the plunge!
