I just took these pictures of my 8 year old niece today, after we got out of the lake at my dad's. So please forgive the water-logged hair! She love this top. I also bought her the white skort to go with it...I didn the top in Caron Simply Soft in lilac.

For some reason, I had trouble adding another photo...sorry for the second post, but I wanted to add a closer view. The little detail on the top are double purl decreases. This top was knit from the bottom up...

She is so cute!!!! As is her top! Wasn't it fun to knit?! I knit one for my gd last year, too! You are a great aunt, looks like you might be her favorite!

I made a purple one like that for DD two years ago (?) and I just started a new one in white. I'm using Lion Brand Cotton-ease. I'm only on the 11th row.

I adore this pattern! But this time, I think I'm going to rework the top to make it more like a tank.

KK made one for her niece, too.
