View Full Version : Rowan Big Wool v. Lambs Pride Bulky
I already tried yarndex, but I need to know if both these yarns give the same gague. The owner of my lys said yes, but now I wonder if it was just to make a sale. Has anyone tried either of them ?
I haven't knit with the LP Bulky but I've seen it and I would doubt they knit the same. the BIG WOOL is very round and thick.
According the WEBS site
RBW = 87 yards/100gm, 7.5-9 sts/4" on size15-19 needles
LPB = 125 yards/100gm, 3st/1" on size 10-1/2 needles

Big Wool is sooo much softer too :heart:
Rowan does also make another yarn called Little Big Wool which is a bit closer to LPB -- per 100g it has 132 yards (it comes in 50g balls, 66yd each for $9...ouch!) and the gauge is 11 sts/4" on size 13 needles. Maybe that's what she was referring to?
