:teehee:

Ok last night I knit the Lacy Thong from the Spring '07 Interweave. It's a very quick knit, the hardest part was the crochet picot since I had to teach myself to crochet.

The yarn is Mulberry Silk, 100% silk. It feels very very nice now that the piece if finished and blocked, but I didn't care to knit with it. Absolutely no give and it had a tendency to split. I'll probably try this pattern again in a different yarn. It's so quick and it's a great way to test out yarns

This is for my cousin--she throws Thong Parties with her friends (yup). This has been on my mind since mwedzi posted hers and I finally got around to it. Yay!

That is so pretty. The pattern and the color are lovely :inlove: :inlove: Tell your dad we're all adults here, well most of us are, and it's nothing any of us haven't see and if it really bothers him just tell him not to look.

:muah:

And even if we aren't all adults, we do all wear panties. And for the boys, well, I'm sure they knew before now that people wear panties.

I love it! I never added the ribbon to mine. I don't even know where mine is anymore. :?? Yours will definitely be the most special thong at the thong party. You should probably get ready to start taking orders!

It looks beautiful!

I think the reason they use a non-stretchy yarn is so that it won't stretch out of shape. A saggy thing would be awfully uncomfortable. :teehee:

Very pretty, and you did a very nice job but thank God I am too fat, too old, and my husband hates them, cause I just can't see sticking a piece of yarn between the cheeks!

Hemorrhoids and thongs are not a good combination.

Um, I'm not a fan of thongs. Think they're silly and downright uncomfortable. (I'm in the "You want me to put that WHERE??!?" :oo: camp.) So, in my book, the only comfortable thong IS a saggy thong!

hee hee hee

Yours IS beautiful, though!!

GREAT JOB ON THAT THONG! It's such a special colour, the lace is so pretty/sexy. I just adore it. I vacillate between loving thongs and hating them. In the summer under certain tight fitting dresses/pants they make a lot of sense and there's no riding up like with reg panties. But while they're comfortable for about the first 2 hours there comes a time when they've got to come off. :teehee: But! I want to make one now that I've seen this one and of course Mwedzis. they're just so pretty.

Really cute! I'm tempted to make it now.

The comments about thongs in general crack me up. I worked at VS for years and came out a devoted thong girl. For some who never have tried them they imagine it being so uncomfortable..but they are definitely more comfortable than having all the fabric that was meant to cover your whole booty in there!

VictoiseC

EXACTLY KEMP! Funny, sometimes things aren't what you think they are.... P.S.. what's VS?

Tell your dad he shouldn't be too horrified your pic is on the internet. I made two thongs for my mother for her 65th Birthday!:roflhard:
She has an awesome figure and is a card carrying advocate of thong wearing. My brother is mildly horrified not only that I carried this knitting project to his home (my visits there are my knitting vacations) but that there is a 150% chance our mother will wear them and discuss it in great detail.:teehee:
I have pics but my computer area is a mess so I haven't gotten a thing downloaded yet. I did one in a cream 100% Jaeger silk and one in black bamboo. The bamboo was like knitting with 10ply embroidery floss...very nice when done *almost said, "in the end"* but very splitty. How many people can say they have bamboo up their wazoo?:roflhard:
If I had the bod, I would be all about thongs. But, alas, I spend my life trying to keep the undies out of there...;-)

I've just read this thread and have been laughing my a**e off, until the point BinkyKat wrote, 'wazoo', at which point I sprayed coffee all over my monitor! Never heard that one before!

I love the thong, if your lokking for nice underwear to knit, 'Naughty Needles' is a good book.

Oh and you CAN'T knit a corset, you can knit a bodice, a corset is a whole different thing, (trust me I'm an expert on corsets, I love them, I can now get down to 16 1/2 inch waist on mine)

Very nice job, I can think of a couple of women who'd love me for ages for knitting them a few of these. Though I'm of the opinion that there is no such thing as too much information :D

Beautiful work! I showed my husband and he promptly told me to print up the pattern! I think I will head to my local knitting store tomorrow to pick out my silk.

For some who never have tried them they imagine it being so uncomfortable..but they are definitely more comfortable than having all the fabric that was meant to cover your whole booty in there!

Kemp, you are absolutely correct. I used to make the same comments about "floss" undies until I tried a pair. They are definately more comfortable than constantly digging/adjusting briefs or bikinis.

Thanks for sharing,
Tracy

FYI: Here is a link to the pattern if anyone else is as interested as I am about making one of these.

I really love it! It's really sexy...But as many have noticed before - 2 hours tops in there is enough :rofling:. That's the trouble with thongs in hot climat - everything is sweaty and i mean - everything ...But it would make a lovely gift to my sister...
