adorable!!! Love the little ribbon and your choice of lining. I'm going to have to read that book now!

Thanks! I really didn't enjoy sewing in the lining though. I need to find a new friend who loves to do that. :rofling:

I don't have mad photo skills, it's really the camera.

What a pretty purse. Thanks for sharing.

I'm doing to same pattern using some really funky colored twine I found at ACE Hardware yesterday. It's a little hard to work with, but I'm gonna stick with it.

Wow twine? You're gonna have one tough bag when it's done! Must post pictures. :)

I was in the hardware store getting a piece of glass for Matt and I decided to check out the twine for inspiration. They had two rolls of this really great color - kind of a chartreuse - and I HAD to have it. Of course, I think I may be short for this project so I'll have to go to another ACE Hardware until I find another roll.

I really wanted to do the fat bottom bag with it but it was really difficult to do the hhdc's and I wasn't in the mood to spend so much time on every single stitch. Oh well....................

Yeah, the hhdcs took some getting used to. I should start raiding the hardware stores around here...

Here's where I am on my purse, using some really funky colored twine from ACE Hardware. I've had to frog it about 4 times because this stuff is soooooooooo stiff and difficult to work with, but I think I'm over the hump.

The crazy color is what grabbed me. It's kind of a yellow with a touch of lime in it which makes the color kind of funky or yucky, depending on how you look at it.

I think that, instead of the ribbon, I'm going to thread something beaded through the eyelets. I've got some glass rods in this exact color, so I'm going to make some crazy beads, add some Swarovski's and make it really wild.:woot:(Don't you LOVE this Smilie?)

I'll keep you posted!

WOW WOW WOW. I love the colour! Won't it be difficult to sew up since it's so stiff? I can't wait to see what it looks like completed.

Heh. The smiley looks ridiculously happy. :woot:

I've been running around all day trying to find one more roll of this color. I haven't had any luck so far, but there are 2 more ACE Hardware stores near me that I'm going to try tomorrow. I wanted to make a few changes to the purse but, if I don't find more of this color, it won't happen.

As for the joining, this twine is surprisingly soft when it's crocheted. It's very flexible which, I hope, will make it easy to join.

I'll keep you posted!
