Apparently all my whining about hand balling hanks of yarn has paid off and my hubby has been lurking as a guest reading and searching past posts and ordered me a swift and ball winder for my birthday !!

Of course, when he gave it to me he also asked "Do I have to worry about you trying to buy natural yarn and dye it with kool-aid or onion peels in the kitchen?" :rofling: HEHE I have a habit of trying things just to see if I can do them...currently selling everything I bought a couple years ago to can things out of my garden. I must say my pickles were very good.

Anywoo, now I must go buy more yarn to play with my new toy !!

Happy Birthday!

How kind of your DH to do all that research for your gift! Must be love.

I guess this means you have to buy lots fo yarn to wind!

Haven't you people ever heard the Bonnie Raitt song "Women Be Wise"?

Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don't advertise your man
Don't sit around gossiping, explaining what your good man really can do
Some women nowadays, Lord they ain't no good
They will laugh in your face, Then try to steal your man from you
Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don't advertise your man

Your best girlfriend, she might be a highbrow, she changes clothes 3 times a day
What do you think she's doing now, while you're so far away
She's loving your man in your own damn bed
You better call for the doctor, mama, try to investigate your head
Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don't advertise your man

Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don't advertise your man
Don't sit around, girl, telling all your secrets,
telling all those good things he really can do
If you talk about your baby, you tell me he's so fine
Lord honey, I just might sneek up and try to make him mine
Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don't advertise your man

Don't be no fool, don't advertise your man (baby don't do it)

I loved the "Women Be Wise".

Years ago I had a friend who heard me say often how wonderful my dh is to me. She said to me once, "I really like you a lot but if anything ever happen to you...I'll be the first one at your husbands door with a casserole dish.:oo: lol I never forgot that. Cute of her to say.:rofling:

I got the Knitting Gal the Knit Picks options set for one significant gift. Us boys are lucky to have knitting gals because there's such a wide variety of gift options! Of course, I've been using the set myself now...still, better than a bowling ball with my initials on it right?
