Hi everyone,

So I'm trying to buy some yarn with out seeing it first but i'm not sure what these numbers mean.

specifically I was looking at this:
http://www.discountyarnsale.com/pd_louet_euroflax_142_100_gr_cone.cfm#

and tried looking it up on yarndex:
http://www.yarndex.com/search.cfm?action=search_basic&ss=euroflax+linen&Search=Submit+Query&wt_1=on&wt_2=on&wt_3=on&wt_4=on&wt_5=on&wt_6=on

Now which one is it?

what does 14/2 mean?

are there any websites that might be able to shed some light on these numbers?

Thanks all!

Melissa

The numbers have to do with weaving yarn.

I found this:

I have some 20/2 wool and it's almost as thin as sewing cotton, I'd guess thin cobweb in U.S.? 3800 yards per pound according to that site...
