View Full Version : Noro Kujaku

Has anyone used this yarn? It is a 85% wool and 15% poly yarn from the ever incredible Noro collection, the wool is wrapped with a poly thread.
Curiously it was discontinued in 2006, which must be why I was able to purchase a HUGE stash of it on e-bay (30 skeins 25 in color #18 and 25 in color #5:flirt:).
NOW I don't know what to do with it!!! In searching the internet I have found some felted patterns with it but wondered how well it felts with the poly wrap. I'm thinking about a Lizard Ridge afghan but withonly the two colors not sure THAT would work.

You might lose a little of the wave definition with the bespeckled yarn for a lizard ridge. You could always knit a couple of repeats and see how you like it, though! Here is a picture of Clapotis done in Kujaku. http://www.flickr.com/photos/2ktog/8161230/ And here is a gorgeous cardigan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tamarasphotos/402420181/
You might try a google image search too!

Or a multi-directional scarf :
Probably anything from the Modular Knits book would look good. :)

OOOOOOOOOOOH, all very lovely. I'll have to check out the modular knits.
The butterfly cardigan is just LOVELY although I cannot imagine how they did that!!!!
I found the modular knitting book used on Amazon.com for $8.00 and ordered it :-)

looks just like an intarsia motif. she probably just used a ball from the opposite end to get it too standout :)

I love the collar on that sweater!!!

I would think you might loose some of the felting process with the poly threads with the wool.........yes?
I always us 100% wool for felting........
I do love the NORO products though!

Hey Ginny! I know this is odd, but do you have any Kujaku left from the skeins you bought in 2007? I am IN LOVE with this yarn and am making some fun crochet pieces with it. I am DESPERATE for more. THANKS for reading this and let me know if I can take some yarn off your hands. Beth Ineson::woot:

This is an old post and, as far as I know, this person no longer frequents KH. You might try PMing her to see if you get a response. Otherwise, you might check Ravelry and see if anyone has this yarn for sale there.
