I've been knitting for two years now (just finished my first crew neck sweater FOR ME). I'd love to learn how to crochet since I've seen a lot of patterns that use it for edging. Can anyone suggest a crochet tutorial; preferably video because I have a hard time following just looking at pictures. I'm more of a hands on learner. I learned how to knit using Amy's videos. Thank you Amy!:X:

Hi

I'm trying to learn a bit of crochet too - I found this site pretty good to watch:

You could try youtube (http://youtube.com). There are a lot of crochet videos on there. Just type in "how to crochet".

Ekgheiy, you weren't kidding! Crocheting is hard...I want to get a video because I had one crochet lesson and the instructor was terrible. Talked more about herself than teaching me. The lesson was at a table set up near the front door of the LYS and she talked with everyone who stopped by with their crochet questions. Her daughter dropped by and they chatted about family stuff. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I had paid for a private lesson.:wall:

Think I'll get more out of a video

I purchased a DVD (http://www.amazon.com/I-Cant-Believe-Im-Crocheting/dp/B000GD85IU) for it. I haven't really gotten much of a chance to do anything other than skim through it, but it seems quite helpful. Especially the fact that I can watch it on a big screen tv. Makes things much easier to understand. :teehee:

Now i havent been here in a while (it was just a passing fancy to learn at the time! LOL) and back then they were still putting the site together so a few of the more complicated stitches didnt have video's yet.... but you should check this out to see if they've updated some things.

I think of it as the Crochet version of KH:

I second NexStitch (http://www.nexstitch.com/)! It's a great crochet resource. Also, try your local library for the crochet DVDs. I found the I Can't Believe I'm Crocheting and Crochet Stitches in Motion from my library.

Sorry to hijack! But I was just about to post a "how to single crochet around perimeter of blanket" question when I found this! Thanks now I can finish the baby blanket I'm working on!

Hi Everyone,
The stitch shown here
http://www.aolshowme.co.uk/show-me-h...urself-crochet is actually a single crochet and not a double crochet. Maybe it is known as a double in the UK,
but it's a single here in the US.
