I got mine today, too, but only was able to give it a cursory glance. I'll have to sit down with it and see what they have to offer this time.

08-02-2007, 09:40 PM
IK is Interweave Knits magazine

08-02-2007, 09:52 PM
Mine came today too. I haven't had a chance to look through it yet though.

got mine today, and i'm obsessed with the tilted duster! after i finish my green gable (about 95% done), and make my rusted root sweater (finally!), i'm going to start a knit along for this one. i LOVE the way it hangs! just LOVE it!
so many cute things in here! :woohoo:

Mine came today too :yay::yay::yay:I loooooooove the Minimalist Cardigan.

I like that one, too! It's gorgeous! :inlove: I also love that cabled yoke cardigan by Eunny Jang and the cabled hat. I think I might actually knit the cabled hat, but without the "poof" on top.

At Open Knit Night at my LYS yesterday, someone else was commenting about how they hadn't gotten theirs, yet it was out on the store shelves. Hmm...

I got mine today too. I think I'm gonna make that Eunny cardi, Kate! Make it, and we can be twinnnnnnnsies! :yay:

I'm gonna have to subscribe to this and Vogue Knitting since I'm grabbing them when they come out anyway :)

08-03-2007, 09:22 AM
I usually buy the mags at Joann's with the coupons and it ends up costing less than a subscription.

But, it is not quite as exciting as coming home to a special treat in your mailbox!

08-03-2007, 09:58 AM
:waah:mine hasn't arrived yet!!

08-03-2007, 02:21 PM
I got mine yesterday :happydance:

I luuuurve the cabled v-neck sweater :inlove:

08-03-2007, 03:30 PM
Mine came yesterday. I LOVE several of the patterns; Eunny's cardigan, the minimalist cardigan, the mirepoix bodice, the tilted duster the Dickinson pullover and the counterpane pullover! If only I were thinner and didn't need to buy as much yarn so it wouldn't cost as much! hey....that's a fantastic diet incentive :D

08-05-2007, 03:22 AM
When it rains, it pours! I got my Fall 2007 IK and my Fall 2007 25th Anniversary VOGUE on the same day! :eyes: I don't think I can take it!

These are two DYNAMITE issues!

08-05-2007, 05:03 AM
I recently subscribed but I bet I still wont' be sent this newest issue. I may just have to go out and buy it anyway.

08-05-2007, 09:45 AM
No fair! Don't have mine yet..... I guess ( I hope, I hope!) I'll get it Monday or Tuesday.

08-06-2007, 04:16 AM
I checked Joanns' yesterday and they didn't have it. So will have to keep looking.:gah:

08-16-2007, 05:52 PM
I've not gotten mine yet, Lonnie, sweet man, was looking all over town for it when he got my Vogue last week and then when he got home I told him I'd seen it wasn't released yet! I can't wait to get it this weekend .... it is, by far, my fave magazine!

08-16-2007, 06:26 PM
I got mine yesterday at my lys. All I can say is I need to get my Christmas stuff done because I need a Minimalist.

08-16-2007, 07:11 PM
i just subscribed and i received my fall issue. is it just me or does IK does not rate their patterns by difficulty?

08-16-2007, 11:02 PM
As far as I know, IK doesn't note difficulty level on their patterns. But this is the place to come with questions if you take on something challenging! You can do it!

Side note: I'm working on the Cable-Down Raglan from the Spring 2007 issue (halfway down the page here (http://interweaveknits.com/preview/2007_spring.asp)), and it's not nearly as difficult as it looks. So find something you like and go for it!

Personally, the Tangled Yoke Cardigan is going on my needles as soon as my WEBS order of Silky Wool gets in. What a gorgeous design! The only things I definitely won't knit from this issue are the dresses. (Seriously - knitted dresses?)

08-16-2007, 11:23 PM
Oh my! That cable down raglan is pretty!!! I'm going to have to get a copy of that issue, I really do love that sweater! Be sure to show us pictures of yours once it is done!

08-16-2007, 11:26 PM
good to know i just wasnt missing the rating.

i usually i'm not afraid to start a project its just how i like to plan out when i do it though. if its rated advanced then if its a gift i give myself extra time to do it just in case.

08-17-2007, 06:59 PM
I signed up for a free issue, and found that they're one of those tricky places that don't actually mean it !

Rather than your first issue, they send you an invoice instead, and you're like, "wait, I thought I got to look at the magazine and see if I'd like it !" But, noooooooooooo !

Now I got a letter saying, "we hope you enjoyed your first issue........please send payment here....

Yeh, right........like they don't KNOW that they never sent me the first issue. ! :hair:

Okay, rant over..........

I really wanted to make the red hat with the fancy stitch !

08-17-2007, 08:03 PM
I'm quite excited! Lonnie just asked me if he could get anything for me tomorrow when he's out & I said, yes, the fall IK you looked for when I asked you last time before it was out! He said okay, so i should have mine tomorrow, too....my very fave mag!!

08-20-2007, 12:43 PM
When you get yours give it a good inspection. Mine was bound in the wrong order.
Pages 73-96 where bound in after page 160.

08-20-2007, 02:11 PM
is it just me or does IK does not rate their patterns by difficulty?

They don't, but I have made several things and found that they always have explanations of challenging things in the magazine. For example, there was pattern for a sweater in bi-color brioche, so the same issue carried an entire article on the technique with excellent drawings explaining the stitch and increases/decreases. And they put a lot of things in their glossary at the back that other magazines don't.

Also, the way the patterns are presented (all in paragraphs rather than broken down line by line) makes them look much more difficult than they are.

(Of course, I make ample use of the Help forum here, so the people who always so generously answer my questions are probably reading this and thinking "right, bip, you never need our help because everything is all spelled out?")

DH actually took a liking to the Cobblestone Pullover.

Im seriously debating on making that. But darnit, that means another yarn order.

08-20-2007, 06:11 PM
I just picked mine up today- I like it!

08-20-2007, 09:31 PM
