Are you looking for places to donate your items? I've donated needles and yarn to a nearby Women's Prison via our local church. I could find out further info (where to send it, etc) if you are interested -- altho I would think there would be something more local to you. Below is a link to a recently newspaper article about their program.

Yep, a "place" to donate needles only...I have donated yarn, but they don't take needles...Thought I check here on the forum first before I "donate" to Goodwill...

I would tend to donate to a retirement home. I know various local groups here buy yarn and take elderly people for outings to sit in places and to chat and knit. Needles are always very welcome. So, a retirement home or a local community welfare group that arranges craft activities for the elderly would be my picks.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

I'm starting a knitting club at school this fall (3rd to 5th grade students) and we'll definately be depending on donations from people for our knitting supplies. If your needles are plastic or bamboo, we can sure use them on our club; aluminum needles are not allowed in the school.

Check with your local Ronald McDonald House, too. Ours actually does a weekly knitting group for the kids.

I would think the senior citizen's home would benefit from such a gift and it would give the residents something to do other than watch time go by or their families show up, if they ever do.
I do alot of knitting and crocheting for charity only. I know I can knit or crochet whatever I want and it will be used. God will make sure it goes to where it is needed..

I hope and pray you all have a blessed day!

Smiles,
