it depends.. i have ...ummm...groped the new patons bamboo, but not knit with it. i have knitted with the SWTC Bamboo. it's a cabled yarn, and a little rough, but it gets softer as it's handled and washed :) HTH

Several of us have been making Dream Swatches with bamboo. I used Madil Eden bamboo, and :heart:ed it! Check here (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/showthread.php?t=62729) for more.

I petted the new Bernat Bamboo last week. It was gorgeous. So amazingly soft. They just didn't have ANY colours I liked. :pout:

I tried STWC's Bamboo yarn and it is so soft and silky. I'm thinking about making a Sinful Ribbed Scarf with it. It's so shiny and silky.

I've made a tank top with SWTC bamboo. I love it. You have to knit it more tightly than the ball band gauge otherwise it will stretch all out of shape for a garment. But it is very slinky and drapes across the skin in a most beautiful way. It doesn't have much natural elasticity but this yarn is some kind of cable construction (still not 100% sure when to use that term), so the construction gives it some stretch. In any case since you're knitting it, it will of course have plenty of stretch.

If a certain someone on this board lets me (you know who you are), I'm eager to share pics.
