I've started the sleeves on the Rowan Atmosphere sweater (see my signature for link) and both sleeves have c4f cables. Does it make sense for the cables on both sleeves to go in the same direction? i thought it should be symmetric like on the front and back:shrug:... I've checked the errata and it's ok... Your opinion?

If you don't like the way it looks with both cables going in the same direction then just do one side front and one back. Cable F(ront) is a left leaning cable and Cable B(ack) is a right leaning. It won't make a difference in your pattern, just remember which way you are knitting on each sleeve.
