Thanks, y'all! I just learned that orioles drink nectar, just as hummingbirds do. I must round up an oriole feeder now. He's big and beautiful!

I'd like to see photos from other KHers, too. anyone?

Isn't he gorgeous? I was knitting the BSJ out on the "verandah" (the patio) and he was suddenly there, a few feet away. You probably have them nearby as well.

I'll be watching for your photos!

I just took some the other day of grandson with a frog he caught and the frog made a noise and he ballooned out .He probably didn't like being upside down:doh:And him watching the humming birds. You have to really look for the humming bird in some of the pics because they are in flight. One is by the pole, the other between the trees.Other grandson feeding neighbors horse (horse is nature isn't it?)a apple.I took some earlier this summer of a bee and a butterfly. And two from last winter.

Falls in Glacier National Park. It looks like a small stream but it's huge. The horizonal line is actually the road about three miles away that crosses over it.

I'm not a very good photog, but here are some of my fave pics.

This is the sunset in Ruidoso, NM. We rented a cabin up there for a week. Saw deer all the time. It was really nice.

http://sabrinajl.com/photogallery/sunsetruidoso.jpg

A hummingbird made a nest in my windchimes. She came back the next year too. 5 babies were born in that nest. Then I moved and they wouldn't let me leave the chimes for her. :(

http://sabrinajl.com/photogallery/hummingbirds.jpg

This was taken at Bear Country USA in Rapid City, SD. It was pretty cool.

http://sabrinajl.com/photogallery/wolf.jpg

This was taken on a whale watching cruise off the coast of San Diego. It's one of my fave pics. There's a cool one of the whale AND dolphins here (http://sabrinajl.com/sandiegotrip/whale4.jpg), but it's too big to post.

Here is the picture of the lake that I live near. It's actually about 1/8 mile down the road from me. The lake is about 12 miles around, this is just a small portion of it.

I stink at taking pictures :teehee: but here are some of mine...

The New River Gorge taking from Hawk's Nest over look this past July when I was home...

The Huge pine tree that is in front of our house...it was planted when the house was built in 1862...it's not weird for us to find someone pull up, and look at the pine tree without a word to us :teehee:

I have others but they must be on dh's computer...

The first weekend my bil and sil were in town, we all piled into the Suburban and just drove into PA with no destination in mind. We looked at the map and headed off to Bushkill Falls for the day. WOW! While it was a walk (18 month and a 4 & 5 year old with us!) it was so beautiful there!

I'm loving everyone's photos! Here's one of my absolute favorite nature photos. It's the Angel Oak (http://www.follybeach.com/angeloak.php) in Charleston, SC and shades 17,000 square feet. Here's another (http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=276924491&size=l) photo of it with me next to it for the sake of perspective. I consider it to be sacred and being in its presence is humbling. If you ever have an opportunity, go experience it!

I wish I could take such beautiful pictures!! Thanks for sharing, everyone! I feel like I've been on a virtual tour of the country!

This is a picture of our backyard. This was with my old digital camera - and again, I'm not a great photographer, but it's one of my favorite photos of home...on bad days at work, I pull it up and daydream! Beyond the pasture, those woods go pretty deep and there is a creek (now, bone dry because of the drought). I love to go walking back there...I have some pics, but not here. Zkimom's picture of the creek made me think of our Wallahatchee Creek.

Aw, harbor seal juvie! I did my college internships in marine mammal rehab. I spent a couple summers raising sick/orphaned seal pups. I miss that. :pout: I keep saying someday I'll have at least one firm day a week to go back as a long term volunteer. Most rewarding feeling seeing the little ones swimming in the ocean again!
