We left for vacation this morning for Vegas and had just taken off from Atlanta. We were sitting in first class, I took out my knitting (a sweater for my dd for her birthday) and as I pulled the needles out of the ball, it slipped out of my hands, slid between our seats and fell on the floor behind us :wall:. The couple behind us were sleeping so when the flight attendent came to ask what we would like to drink I ask him if he could retrieve my ball of yarn and just hand it back over the seat. Welllll, the plane was climbing which caused the yarn to roll underneath the seats all the way back through coach until it ran out of yarn!!!! I ended up having to re-roll the ball just so I could get my yarn back! Not one person noticed this purple ball of yarn rolling between their legs!

Thanks for the laugh. That is totally something that would happen to me. I just can't believe no one noticed the yarn rolling down between the seats or felt it bump on their shoes. Be thankful it did not get stuck anywhere and you were able to roll it back up. :)

No one had under the seat bags....? That's amazing, most of the flights I've been on it woulda stopped at least a couple rows back.

That's funny! That happened to me once, not with yarn, but with books, on an almost empty flight. They slid all the way to the back of the plane when it took off. I was so upset because it was a pretty short flight and we wore our seat belts the whole time so I couldn't get up to get them!

Funny; however, I don't know if I am spooked by the fact that no one noticed the yarn thread creeping along the floor. Was it dark or a small flight.

Now THAT'S funny.

Something like that happened to me on a New York City bus. Except that EVERYBODY noticed when the ball of yarn rolled all the way to the front of the bus. It turned into a real circus, with people trying to be helpful and pulling the yarn back through the seat bottoms and getting tangled up with each other and the yarn. And fortunately, the floor of the bus wasn't TOO dirty.

As paranoid as so many people are I'm surprised no one saw it and thought it was a disguised bomb or a ball of primer cord! What a riot!

I've caught kids' toys when they were sliding back along the aisle during take off, but I haven't seen any yarn on the loose before. Thanks for the laugh!
