I am VERY new to knitting (taught myself how about 3 weeks ago:woot:). I would like to make a simple sleep sack for my DD to use this fall/winter. I can't find any patterns that don't have hoods though. Anyone know of a pattern I could use for this? It does not need to untie or open at the bottom but I would like it to be a little tape3red at the top. Any help would be appreciated!

there's one at knitty.com (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer07/PATTzodiac.html)it doesn't have a hood, and you wouldn't have to do the 'sign' on it either. Looks pretty simple, congrats on teaching yourself to knit!

If you see a pattern you like, that has a hood, you can still do it but leave the hood off. Do a few rows of garter stitch or rib at neck instead, if it needs it.

or here are some others.
