My roving just arrived and I went out and bought the colors today. I'd like to dye the roving pale blue, green, and brown, and maybe leave some natural. I'm wondering if you think if i handpaint it and then ply it will the colors look muddy? Would it be better to dye three solids and ply them together? Somehow that sounds like it would look weird. Thoughts?

Either way it will make the colors a little bit muddy, although pretty. If you want to keep the colors very individual, spin a single and Navajo ply it. Or spin undyed singles, ply them, then dye the yarn. :)
