I have loved this shrug ever since I saw it a couple of months ago.

I couldn't find the patterns until yesterday when I was searching on Lion Brand (I seem to do that a lot...) and came across it. Has anyone made this? I've never made a sweater or shrug and I'm a bit apprehensive about making something to wear as I usually don't like the look of the "typical" handknit sweater, but I really like this one. I'm also intimidated by certain aspects of knitting it, even though it's an easy pattern. Any info/ encouragement/ advice would be appreciated!

I think it looks pretty easy, I'm even thinking I've got the perfect malabrigo to do it for my daughter......

Doesn't that pattern call for extremely chunky yarn? I wanted to make it in a bulky alpaca and could never get the gauge right.

Yes it does....... I'd have to try a guage but my "thought" was that if I made the large size in smaller yarn it would work (my daughter is very small). The guage looks to be about 2 stitches per inch on a 10........

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you. I really like that pattern.
