Hi, I have a spare skein of Wool ease in pastel yellow:woot: and I thought about making my first hat with it (mayb):aww: Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good first hat pattern? I can knit and purl and yarn over and I have never used dpns (yet). I want to try nautilus or one of Kody Mays patterns (sorry for not linking here, that would have taken more time on my part).

Personally I learned by making he rolled brim hat and Biddas head warmer had on KH free pattern page, that way you get comfortable using circular needles and DPN's without having to fuss with a fancy pattern or cables.
Best of Luck
P.S have you search knittingpatterncentral ?

I did my first hat with this recipe.
If you are going to use a 16 in circular needle you'll also need the same size double pointed needles. If you haven't used them this is the best way to learn.

I've been searching for an easy first hat, and found this one recently. I don't think it could get much simpler!

My first hat was Jan's bow hat pattern. I made 2! :knitting:
