Here is a sweater that I just finished for my granddaughter. She calls it her "fweater". She is three. She thinks she knit it because a few times she held the yarn for me while I was knitting. She will look wonderful in it, I hope.

The pattern is from a company called Mary Maxim and is called Snowman Jacket. No. 9061N. The pattern calls for the sweater to be blue with red pockets, but my daughter wanted it in "princess colours" for our little princess, so that is what she got. She does not know about the hat yet. I went on the internet and got the hat pattern at http://tiajudy.com/simplestcap.htm

I used a yarn called Caron Simply Soft Quick. It is soooo soft and wonderful to work with. I had this finished (with your help) in a week.

Here is a picture of the finished project. I've added it as an attachment. I hope that works. Let me know if you can't see it and I'll try it again!

:yay::yay:Very nice! I'm sure your G.D. will love it. Children are great to knit for:blooby: I couldn't see the color very well on my computer.

Lilac and pale pink. They make a wonderful combination. She is blonde with chocolate eyes, so this is going to show off her colouring nicely. Thanks for the compliment!

So adorable! I love the mitten pockets too :inlove: Is it odd that I want one for me and I'm certainly not 3 years old? :teehee:

Great job!

I think the hat is perfect with the sweater. I also have to experess my love for the mitten pockets. It's something I know I would have loved when I was a little girl!

One of dgds will be 3 next month with blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm buying that book next week, along with the yarn. It is PERFECT!

The sweater only fits sizes 4 or 6. It might be a while before your little one could fit into it. But I do admit it was the mitten pockets that drew me to the pattern as well.

Thanks, The.Knitter.

I just realized that the pattern is not from a book, apparently. I've been online searching for it, even on Mary Maxim's site, but can't locate it, either with the name or number. Is it an old pattern, by chance? Where did you find it?

I can't find it either :pout:

I want to add that I've never seen the Mary Maxim website before and it has some great stuff! I couldn't find the pattern you did, but there are a lot of great patterns on this website.

I think I got the pattern about three years ago when my grandson was four. Here is the phone number and addresses in the States and in Canada, you could call and ask them if they still provide this set. Mary Maxim, 2001 Holland Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060, or 75 Scott Ave., Paris, Ontario N3L 3G5, 1-519-442-2266 in Canada.

Hey MerigoldinWA you got the spelling right. She INSISTS that it is her fweater. It is adorable. I am waiting for her to try it on so I can send you a picture of her wearing it.

Very sweet pattern and your grand daughter sounds sweet too. Kind of like my daughter at that age. Mine is now a 6 y/o princess and still very much attracted to "princess" stuff.

I think you've made a great sweater... even though you 'had help!' :)

This is a really easy pattern to knit up. It is on chunky yarn so it knits up quickly. There are not many complicated things on it, so it goes easily. Good Luck!

Aren't grandchildren great to knit for?

Adorable sweater! I love the pockets.

My granddaughter also helps me knit. She's two and she puts her hands on mine and "helps" me put the needle in the next stitch and "helps" me pull it out.

Everything I knit for her is pink though because she tells us "But I NEEEEEEED PINK!"

Keep making those memories!
