View Full Version : I'm Getting Married Today

10-06-2007, 10:55 AM
You guys are all too cute. I wasn't going to start my own thread, but I noticed the replies to my sig were possibly taking over other discussion threads.

But anyways, I am getting married today for the first, and hopefully the very last time. We are 23 and will have been together for 2 years in November.

We are keeping the ceremony small, only 20 guests, and we are having the dinner reception at East Side Mario's where we had our first date. In lieu of gifts everyone is paying for their own meal.

We wanted to elope but the mother's were NOT AT ALL happy with that idea, so the ceremony is 80% for the parents. So me and FH are very relaxed about it. I don't mind at all. We still did it our way, just a bit bigger, and it's really fun to tease my mom about her being the bride haha. (her friends were doing it too. it's so funny.)

We have the week off from work, but aren't planning to go anywhere. Our own little family is right here and I am always happiest when I wake up around noon on a lazy Saturday, cuddling up with my FH and having our 3 kitties snoring around us.

How could we possibly leave that for any given amount of time?

I gotta get running now, my mom is set to pick me up any minute.

:muah:thank you all for the kind words and well wishes I have seen throughout the board. When I get a chance I will be sure to thank you more personally!!!

I got married in April. Same thing, small with only 18 guests. It's the best way to do it, I think.

On your wedding day I wish you sunshine, happiness, love, laughter, joy, beautiful memories and peace.

Remember this day is for you, so take a deep breath and enjoy every minute. It's all about the Bride!!

I had a small ceremony, too, and I'm sooooo glad I did. We also decided to fire up the grill in the back yard for a cook out afterwards. If I had to do my wedding over again, I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I got married in an Italian restaurant in Houston about seven and half years ago.
We had fourteen people there, including the two of us. It was wonderful. AND I didn't have to wear a big, white dress. :woot:

Oh my goodness.. I did not expect such a reply!! Thank you all so much for your wonderful wishes and kind words.

Today was quite literally the best day... tho a looot hotter than I wanted. We were a degree or 2 away from a record heat. Eesh.

It said sunny all day, but as I was getting my hair done it just down poured. So I guess it was fortunate that the hair dresser was 40 min late getting my hair STARTED. I had booked for 1:30 and she didn't get me in the chair till 2:10.

So I ended up being 40 min late for the wedding. If we had been on time, the ground would have been drenched and my dress would have gotten muddy. Since we had 40 min the ground dried perfectly and there was just a couple avoidable puddles.

Actually it worked out extra well too, because I was wearing a pair of flip flops, that are designed to write Just married in wet sand.

When I walked over a puddle, there was a little wet footprint trail of JUST MARRIED. A bunch of people got pics of it so I can't wait to see.

I bawled all the way down the path, and all through the ceremony. It was just wonderful. Our dinner at East Side Mario's was the most amazing and delicious meal I have ever eaten at a wedding.

I felt so great all day, no headache, nauseousness, allergies... just a bit shaky and so so happy. I am sooo tired right now, but I will do a picture post and more detailed run through later on this week.

Again thank you all for your well wishes. I really appreciate it. :muah:

It's funny Jan because I said that very thing to DH (hehe ) last night, and he was like huh? He isn't a forum chatter so I had to explain it. lol :teehee:

But you guys totally get it!

Pictures keep rolling in on facebook from random camera's. I can't wait for the pro shots to come in. The candid ones look great so I wonder how great the pro's are. lol.

I have gathered up about 42 pics... You can see them all on my flickr page... HERE (http://www.flickr.com/photos/krystal_pare/sets/72157602301725392/)

I have tried adding them here but they are consistently too big and I am done editing for today. And flickr doesn't let me post individual pictures... :???:

Great pictures! I wish I could have been married outdoors. My inlaws live at the lakes. Their neighboor's son got married by the lake. But, alas, other's can, Catholics apparently cannot...still don't understand why. Anyway, no more about me..Looks like you had the perfect day and the perfect way to celebrate and be married!
I'm curious, though, who is the statue of/dedicated to?

Thank you all so much!

Reading through all your comments keeps putting a smile on my face. You all remind me every day why I love this forum so much.

I haven't been able to do a lick of knitting the past week. Today we are going for Thanksgiving Dinner at my moms, so I will hopefully be able to get some done then.
