Has anyone tried the new Debbie Mumm yarn available at Joann's? If so, what do you think of it? It isn't even up on the Joann's website yet-- I just happened across it while shopping there. It looks like Noro, the texture and the way it's wound!

We have such an awful JoAnn's here that they never get anything but their own brand here. I'll have to watch for it on the website.

Wow-- that's great! Thanks for posting those! It's funny-- I mentioned that it reminded me of Noro, and 2 of those 3 links did as well! I really like the way it looks knitted up-- I'm going to get some.

I really like how her new yarn looks. I will have to check out my Joann's and hopefully they will have it.

I just "found" this about her yarn....

It does look like Noro! It must be the same Debbie Mumm that has/had quilting fabric.

Right now it's on sale for $5. It's still not on line, as of the last time I checked. But if you go on their site and look at their Store Locator, you should be able to find one near by, or at least call them and find out if you can order some by phone, etc.

I just went to my Joanns and they had the Debbie Mumm yarns. They only had about four different colorways of the one that reminds me of NORO. So I got two of them. I hope they come out with even more later. It much softer than Noro and just as pretty!!! I can't wait to knit with it.:knitting:

I went online to find the yardage info, but there was nothing under product details. Would you mind passing the yardage on to me? Thanks! It is great looking yarn!

I went to Joann Fabric's website and it IS online now to buy. The one that reminds me of Noro is called "traditional". Debbie Mumm has a few new yarns out. Go check it out. :woot:

It's got 148.73 yds per skein. How's that for an exact answer?:) . But isn't that weird?-- all of her other yarns at Joann's have the yardage listed on the website, except for that one!

It's probably because it's new. It wasn't up there last week.

I just got a $150.00 Joanne's gc from a realtor friend. ( I referred a client to her!) and I can't wait to go and check out this yarn.

I've been tempted by Noro before, but it has a "raw" feel that I just don't like.

I got a couple of skeins of Debbie Mumm yarn and at first I loved it. It was so soft and it did remind me of Noro. However I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem with it. It seems when I knit with this yarn the fuzzy part of the yarn bunches up around what would be the core part of the yarn. So as I knit along the yarn will have "gathered" and bunched up as I move along. Is this just me? Did I get a bad batch of yarn. It drove me completely nuts.

It looks really nice, and if it's softer than Noro that's a great bonus. It's cheaper, too. I'd have to feel it, though, since it's mostly acrylic and I can't stand to knit with even some of the softest acrylics like Caron SS. It does have some wool, like Encore, though, which I can knit with. It seems to me that if it's going to be 75% acrylic anyway, it should be superwash. I mean, you can't felt it well because it's mostly acrylic, but you still have to wash it or the remaining 23% of wool will felt.

Okay, I saw the yardage. Is that per 50grams or per 100?

Anyway, composition is 75% acrylic, 23% wool, 2% other. Hmm, "other"? I've never seen a yarn labeled like that before.

My store has a bunch of other Debbie Mumm items, (tins, figurines, etc.) but no yarn. :verysad:
