Anyone out there buy those Harmony needles from KnitPicks? I'm a fairly new knitter and I'm looking at buying my first DPN's and cable needles. The Harmony needles look really pretty and all, but I'm not sure if maybe I should just go for the nickel plate ones (which are, ya know, in stock). Does anyone prefer the Harmony needles to nickel plated/bamboo/etc for functional reasons?:knitting:

If you do a search for "Harmony needles" or any such variation, you will find LOTS of threads about them. :)

Here's just a few of the many posts about them.
As for which one is better..there isn't a good answer to that. It's personal preference. Some people prefer wood to any type of metal. Wood is a little grabbier so it's good for yarns that are really slippery if you use a lot of that. I have the nickel plated, but will probably invest in a few Harmony needles as well at some point. ;)

I have the Harmony Interchangeable set for two weeks and I really LOVE them BUT I've had to contact KP's about two of the needles having splinters on them. They are sending me FREE replacements so that's good but I hope I don't find anymore splinters. They do knit nicely and I love how they look.

I think the Harmony needles are better in the double points because I found the metal Options heavy and they sometimes dropped out of the stitches. I do not have this problem with the Harmony. I love both the OPtions and the Harmony circulars.
