My friend and her DH just bought a cabin in New Hampshire, and she's my first friend to own property (since I'm only 23) so I'm super excited for her. I'd love to knit her something for her cabin but I'm not sure what. Maybe an afgan or something? Anyone have suggestions or patterns?

Thanks all you wonderful KHers!!

A nice afghan would be both thoughtful and useful.

I think an afghan is a great idea! And btw, I just looked at the scarf pattern link in your siggy, and I LOVE it!

I saw that Ingrid did an amazing mitered squares afghan. She has it posted on Ravelry, haven't checked to see if she posted it here or not. You should check it out! I think it'd be perfect for a cabin knit :D

I think an afghan would be perfect (though I've never done one). There are tons of free patterns available - I was thinking the log cabin afghan (because it has a "cabiny" theme :)).

Ok, so an afghan it is. I'm thinking something like this (http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/70122AD.html) maybe?

I like this (http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/08/hemlock-ring-blanket.html) one too.

I know, as much as I love it, I'm not sure I'm up to skill. I also like the one you posted Mariblue, its beautiful!
