Has anyone here tried it? I just picked up some wire to try it out. How'd it go for you? What needles would you recommend?

I really like knitting with wire. I made a bracelet and necklace set, and another bracelet several months ago. They were fun to knit and they turned out really nice, but I haven't done any more wire knitting since.. just too many other projects on my plate right now. ;)

My only advice... don't use your good needles! Use a pair of cheap metal (like aluminium) needles, and reserve them for wire knitting only. They WILL get scratched and scuffed up.

OMG - those look awesome! I found a pattern in a Christmas Knitting book for votive holders with beads. I may have to move those up on my "to do" list.

Wow! Silver, yes those are GORGEOUS. So elegant.!

I just saw a pattern for a little lampshade, it's darling. I need to find a place to buy wire. There's a bead shop in my neighborhood so maybe I can get it there. It's light wire knitted along with linen I think it was. Lampshades are so darn expensive so it might be worthwhile
