A pretty simple watch cap, no pattern. I tried something a little different with the decreases, basically doing 5 decreases on each round so that I wound up with a 1x1 ribbing at the top. I'm not too happy with that and will probably do a more standard decrease pattern on future caps.

Looks good, Mason! It will still be warm and you learned something along the way. ;)

Very nice! I love a black watch cap -- it's so masculine! It will go well with your black palindrome scarf.

Mason,
I like the hat. You are really starting to turn out FO's. You must knit pretty quickly.

Yeah, I learned that there's a reason decreases are gone about a certain way

Thanks everyone.

What don't you like about the way you decreased? The picture looks good, both the ribbing and the shape.

Thanks. The decreases were even all the way around and all that, but they caused an odd look to the ribbing near the top. It doesn't show now because it's hidden by the drawn in seam, but on something that isn't drawn in it would look kinda funny.

It looks good from what I can see. I think it's great that you're experimenting with your own design ideas.

Looks great to me!

And hey you said you can't see the part you don't like, so you fixed the part you didn't like...

I think it looks great! Tim (DH) has been asking me to make him a cap to wear on watch (he's in the Navy)... I may try something like this :)
