I am not terribly excited about anything in there. The baby blanket hoodie is cute but I am fairly certain I would gouge my eyes out with my needles if i were to do that much stockinette stitch so soon after finishing the pinwheel baby afghan...lol. Usually when I don't get excited about one of these it means y'all are going to like everything in it...so enjoy...lol

Fibonacci and Basic Black are cute, but not too exciting. Seaweed is an interesting idea, but my babies are too big now.

Students in my classroom have expressed an interest in knitting. I'm always looking for beginner patterns that are not too boring and the Hoodie Baby Blanket fits that bill. I also like the Basic Black sweater and the Fibonacci Cardigan. They both are written for my rather amble bust and I don't have to reconfigure the pattern. :knitting:

I liked the socks, but I have not conquered my fear of charts yet. So, I will have to wait.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been looking for a "quick" baby gift. The stitch is prefect, I knit in the car on the way to work (I ride) and in the early morning hours I usually want something I don't have to "think" about!!!!

Can someone explain Seaweed? I can't tell how it's attached. Is it just sitting over a real baby holder thing?

the baby is in a carrier, and Seaweed is just a 'blanket' that buttons onto your coat. very neat idea! i may make one, but my currant coat zips... maybe i should buy a new coat? :shifty: I was thinking of knitting dd some legwarmers, as her pants always get pushed up when we use her baby carrier....

as for the other patterns.. eh.

Is it just me, or is anyone else afraid that baby is going to slide right out of the bottom of Seaweed? I've used a baby sling before, but it actually curls around the baby. This just looks like a plain old blanket trying to hold the baby.

seaweed is just a cover, not an actual carrier :)

i like basic black and the fibonnaci cardigans also but agree that they are a little too simple in stitch variation for me to do right now. i'll get bored and it will sit fooooorrreeevvveerrr.

Um, DUH! I'm a dork. :aww: You even mentioned it in the post right before mine. See what you get for skimming. I was just so bothered every time I looked at that baby and her arms behind her back!

I like the DOH!-nut but I don't get why she spelled it that way.. I thought she was gonna have some long story of how it was supposed to be one thing and turned into another. Whatever I like the colors. THe other stuff, yeah cute baby stuff, nice cardis but ...eh

Thanks for the note. I'm wondering what's going on with Magknits. It's not just this issue that's not so impressive. :??

I have read her blog a few times here and there and the last I saw it looked like they have been having a hard time since she had her baby. I don't think I have looked to see what was actually wrong with her baby but it didn't sound good if I remember correctly. :(
