I actually made this hooded scarf awhile ago but it is a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. I got the pattern from http://d-made.com/knitting/patterns/hoodie_scarf.pdf I used mmmmm yarn.
My son really wanted to model it so I let him.

Is there another yard one could use to make this as MMMMMM is wool and therefore taboo for me?

I think anything worsted weight would work just fine.

I used that same pattern when I made my hoded scarf but used Silver's scarf instead.Do you like the ribbing in the back? Your's is wonderfulhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_113.gif
