Hello Knitters:

I am a journalist who knits on assignment, often in war zones.... and even, occasionally, under fire. Recently, while in Baghdad, my online yarn supplier asked if I'd write a little article for their newsletter about women - and men - in the military and support organizations who knit. Those who knit while on active duty, and of course those who kit as part of rehabilitation once they get home.

I'd like to know who, and when and where...and what reaction they get from their colleagues. Can anyone put me in touch with any knitters-in arms?

My email is palmer.eliza@gmail.com

Thanks - I'm going back to my cable project - a sweater for my 9-year old daughter in alpaca and silk. Even handling the yarn is soothing.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

I also remember seeing something with some pics of female soldiers knitting but I can't remember where I saw it. Will post if memory returns
