My mother's friend was given this bag as a gift and I want to make it. Does this look familiar to anyone? The bottom and sides are one color and the verigated color is like a square in the center. :knitting: I have been scanning lots of patterns on line but am getting tired of looking and am hoping someone knows exactly what it is! Crossing my fingers!!!!

Well, it's similar to the Booga Bag.

Hmmn...I would do the front and back as two separate pieces, and the bottom and the sides as one long piece. I would cast on, using the booga bag as a reference for size...cast on 34 stiches wide, knit for 34 rows. For the bottom and side, knit as one long piece, it should be 36 stiches (two extra for selvage since you will have to seam together), then knit for 102 stiches. The handles are just i-cord. See the pattern for the Booga Bag to get an idea of how this will work.

Very interesting bag.

I think it is a booga bag too!

It's not the Booga bag as I have done several of them myself. This is bag has a panel of sorts where the varigated yarn is. I am sure I could use the BB pattern, but it won't look the same. I actually had the bag here when my Mom brought it over to show me and I took the picture of it.

Maybe it was formed with the variegated panels because there wasn't enough yarn to do the whole thing that way? Or just as a preference?

a booga bag is a bit different from what that bag is i would say probably for the two back and front sides 30-40 stitches and what ever color and probaby 20-35 stitches from the sides also what msobeal said is pretty good to

-thank me if i helped :aww:
