I have noticed that some really beautiful knitting patterns call for a little embroidery. Is there a good resource for learning the basic techniques of embroidering on knit?

I can't put my finger on the link right now- but are you referring to "duplicate stitching" or "swiss darning"? which mimic knit stitches, for some designs?

or more general embroidery techniques? (chain stitch, running stitch, lazy daisy, french knots.....)

En ingles porfavor! Just kidding, a place to start might be a book that explains what those things are.

Here are some examples of what I am seeing:
Baby caftan (http://www.flickr.com/photos/elinorbrown/447705587/in/set-72057594087758781/)
Another baby caftan (http://www.flickr.com/photos/10276755@N06/852635761)
Pretty top...coincidentally similar to the baby tops above... (http://www.royalyarns.com/ptrn/VOG/VK-SS-2005/A-2.html)

I don't want to give the impression that I am only talking about caftan necklines, lol, those are just the examples I could find that show what I am thinking of.

Thanks :muah:
