View Full Version : need men's hat pattern

I recently made this http://www.blueskyalpacas.com/pattern_detail.php?patterns_ID=39
and DH loves it so much that he would like one of his very own. Does anyone know of a pattern similar? Any help is great!

Since you already have the pattern for the baby version... use that to check your gauge. Measure your husbands head and CO the correct number sts to fit his head. Continue in pattern.

How would I know the correct number of stitches to CO?

Say your guage with the yarn is 6 stitches = 1 inch. DH's head is 21 inches - you would take 6 x 21 = 126. Since your rib is k3, p2, you need a multiple of 5. Round up or down to the nearest multiple of 5 - in this example cast on 125 stitches.

I made this (http://www.crumpart.net/patterns/chocribhatpattern.htm) pattern for the DBF this winter. I also really like this (http://stephanieknits.blogspot.com/2007/03/keeping-boyfriends-ears-warm-since-2006.html)pattern. I find it hard to find men's hat patterns that a man would like!
