This is my first attempt at using DPNs...man, that was hard...I really want to try and master them.
The pattern can be found from a Canadian co call Cabin fever. Check it out on line.

Ahahahahaha! That is the cutest! I was wondering what "whale hat" would look like as I waited for the pic to load. I thought maybe an intarsia whale. But the whale tail is awesome! :yay:
I have been trying to learn DPNs too, and not having a whole lot of luck. I always feel like I don't have enough fingers or hands or something.

That is really cute. I hated dpn at first but after knitting socks they don't bother me at all.

That is cute!! Don't worry everyone has trouble with them... and still the first couple of rounds can be annoying to me...I really like magic loop and I dragged my feet on trying it... always been a dpn girl didn't want to change... :teehee:

Ugh, I TOO am afraid of DPNs. I haven't yet gotten brave enough for those just yet.
That looks great!

it's the "whale of a tail" hat. here's the pattern (http://www.knitwitts.com/item/Whale_of_a_Tail/4146/c256), and here's a kit with LL shepherd worsted (http://www.kyarns.com/lornas-laces-shepard-worsted-whale-of-a-taile-kids-hat-knitting-kit.html).

too stinkin' cute!!! Magic Loop is so much easier to me than DPNs. I, too, dragged my feet on trying it. Don't know why in the world I thought it would be more intimidating than DPNs!! LOL Really so much easier!

for me, dpns take a few rows to really solidify a project. (does that make any sense?) ml doesn't seem to take as many. although, i do love both. ml is just cool, and dpns make me feel all smart and special because any non-knitter would think they look extremely complicated. :teehee:

That is the CUTEST hat, :inlove: I LOVE it!!!
Thanks for sharing!

Hello everyone! The pattern can be bought online from a great Canadian co called Cabin Fever. Thanks for the DPN encouragement. I just bought the book 'Very Easy Circular Knits' it has a great detailed tutorial. I'm going to go home and practice now!
