I am going to our regional library in the next few days to check out some books and I was wondering if there were any books that you would suggest. Mostly I am looking at books that I might want to buy in the future/books from which I can get some good patterns. Our library has a v. good selection (surprisingly), so there is a pretty good chance of me finding what you suggest

on my list so far:
The stitch bible
Big City Knits

if you like lace and/or beautiful books look for Victorian Lace Today and a Gathering of Lace. If you love stranded, fairisle type of work look for Sweaters from Camp with meg Swansen. If you want to read about yarn and plies and the such try Book of Yarn by clara Parkes and if you enjoy reading about yarn artists in our country (and some really neat patterns are included) try America Knits.

Mason-Dixon Knitting (http://www.amazon.com/Mason-Dixon-Knitting-Knitters-Patterns-Questions/dp/0307236056/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195824982&sr=1-1), if you don't already have it. I love this book, the patterns are unique and it's really funny to read. I don't have, but I really want Fitted Knits (http://www.amazon.com/Fitted-Knits-Designs-Fashionable-Knitter/dp/1581808720). I have seen several patterns that I really love. I also love any of the Yarn Harlot books- they're just hilarious.
Just take out as many books as the library will let you!
