I finally found the time to finish the hat I'd been knitting for one of the bartenders over at Applebee's.

It's kind of rough looking, which is what I was going for as it's supposed to go with her corduroy coat. As I don't have access to a washer and drier at the moment I'll just have to leave it to her to wash and dry it to finish it. It would have been nice to have been able to do that before giving it to her as washing does even out the stitches and all, but I'm hoping she'll like it anyway.

Love the "rough" texture; it will go very nicely with the corduroy. Nice knitting - she will love it.

What yarn did you use, Mason?

She said she loved it. I not only got a hug from her but from one of the servers as well (the server thought it was very thoughtful of me).

Hugs make for great payment.

This is the one you were making with homespun, isn't it? It turned out great -- glad you persevered. Any girl would love to have it, and I'm sure it goes great with her coat.

Very nice gift Mason! I think people are really impressed with hand knit gifts, that are man made. LOL

I guess she must really like it and wasn't just being nice. She told me that she had showed it to her mother who liked it and a couple of her friends came in and were introduced "This is the guy who made me that hat I showed you".

Great job. I agree with you that hugs make for an excellent form of payment. People dig it when you take the time in your busy schedule to do something for them, but especially when its something they can show off and that has a purpose.

I too can so see that tuque/winter hat with a nice curdoroy jacket.
