View Full Version : Twinkle Big City Knits book?

Hi! I've been reading the reviews of Twinkle Big City Knits on Amazon. A lot of reviews give the book a "terrible" rating. One oft-stated complaint is that there are so many mistakes in the patterns, and that the "errata" pages found on the book's website don't even begin to cover all of the mistakes. Several reviewers say that only an expert knitter who is able to improvise and knit by looking at the picture should buy the book.
Has anyone tried to knit anything from the book? Do you have the same complaint? Thanks for your help!

I just checked this book out of the library a couple of days ago. I'm so glad that I saw your post because I was going to try and attempt something in this book. And I'm not a good enough knitter to improvise or make something up.
I checked out the book "One Skein Wonders" a couple weeks ago. That author's publishing site had a 27 pages of corrections!

I am by no means an expert knitter and have made the Best Friend Cardigan and Groovy Sweater Dress. It was my first time knitting cables. The patterns can be a bit confusing (and have errors), but if you are not afraid of trying and possible frogging then I say go for it!

There is a Twinkle Group on Ravelry as well as a Knit Along forum on Craftster. If you get stuck, you have lots of help!

I have One Skein Wonders, too! No wonder I've had some probs with patterns in that book!

Where do you find the errata for these books? Especially the One Skein Wonders book.

I went to the publisher's site. But, if you google "pattern corrections"
or "errata" along with the name of the book, something should come up.

I have knitted 3 projects from the book. I love it but I do see that there are issues. I would consider myself an intermediate knitter. I like it b/c the patterns are so modern and different; which suits my teenage daughter. peace
