View Full Version : I want to make this child's jumper for me: adult size, shouldn't be too hard right?

Anyone seen this adorable jumper in the Lion Brand catalog? (spring/summer 07)

It's called Brittany jumper and the pic in the catalog is much easier to see (& prettier) I think it would be fun to wear (as an adult) (childish adult!) done in a soft wool.

I don't know if I need to buy the pattern but I do like the specifics. You just have to do the math right, from the swatch etc and my measurments. ?

Personally I wouldn't even attempt that, but if you want to go for it!

I guess it would be measurements, but adult women also have shaping issues. What hangs flat nicely down the chest on a child would not on a woman. If you made it with the top area longer to cover the boobs, maybe add a little shaping so it doesn't look like a maternity dress it might work fine.

Hmmm, I forgot about the boobs issue. Yeah, I guess I have to rethink it. Maybe I'll look at some adult dresses first and then combine them.... I just love the stitches in that little dress. Thanks Jan!

There's no reason you can't use the stitch patterns on a different basic pattern.

Yeah, suzieeee, I think I'm going to buy it and adapt it. I can make the bodice bigger and make it stretchy too. I want it to be loose like to wear over a top.... If you could see the front you'd see how sweet it is.

I think the pattern is MinnowKnits which I have seen at my library. Just in case you want to check it out before purchasing.
