View Full Version : FO-Garnstudio Cardigan and Baby Set

I usually never post things but I would like some feedback on how well or poor( I won't be offended, promise) my knitting is. I can't get real opinions from anyone else seeing as I know no one who knits. So any comments welcomed please. :)

Baby Set:

I forgot where I found the patterns now but both were made out of Caron Perfect Match. They should fit a newborn but I am not sure for how long! No baby to figure out right sizes yet ;)

Garnstudio Cardigan:

I knit with Wool-ease and I won't do that again, I found it extremely itchy, but it may just be the color I chose? It was an easy to follow pattern but it took me forever because I dislike doing cables. I should have made the medium too, it is small but a little snug.
Also, my seeming is horrendous, any tips or sites I could use to help?

:inlove: I think they are all adorable!

There is a video here for seaming/mattress stitch on the tabs at the top of the page. Or if you need more graphic help check these two sites.

The baby set is wonderful! Maybe some blocking will help with the seams? I think it's a great cardigan

I think you did a great job on both but I know seaming can be a bit of a pain.

Your knitting is beautiful. The baby set should fit 0-3 months, maybe 6 mos. I love the color of the garnstudio sweater (and the baby set, too).

Everything looks just fine in the pictures. The Popeye the sailor pants are really cute. Your adult sweater looks very nice.

Really beautiful work! I think your projects are wonderful.
I guess I am in the minority - but I actually enjoy the seaming part. I've found the videos here to be extremely helpful and also a little book called "The Knitter's Book of Finishing Techniques" by Nancie Wiseman. It describes when it's best to use the different techniques and gives a good start on instruction in the technique. Also the end of Silver's sock tutorial has the best tutorial in how to properly do Kitchener stitch. It's wonderful!
