My pattern says, K2 rows. Work 8 rows in St st beg with a RS row. Is that the same side as my first row, if so I would purl this row correct? It also says to increase on the RS rows. Is the bottom cast on with 2 knits my RS? It just doesn't seem right for it to be the side that has the 4 knit rows........HELP! Hope this makes sense I'm having a hard time putting it into words, kinda new.

You cast-on. You will knit 2 rows. The 3rd row (which is the beginning of, or 1st row of, your St st) will be knit and is your RS. You'll purl the 4th row, knit the 5th... You will be increasing on the knit side.
