I am looking for a mens beeine type hat(or skull cap) that can be mostly knit on circulars(I know will need dpns for top of hat). This is for my first circs project. My DH likes this style of winter hat, wont wear anything else. If you have a pic that would be helpful(but not necessary) as well. Thank you for your help!

Beanies are actually quite simple and you really don't even need a pattern. A very basic one would be to cast on 84 stitches of worsted weight on size 8 circs.

Work four rows of garter stitch and then work stockinette until it measures about 4 1/2 to 5 inches.

Start doing your decreases. 6 K2Tog decreases evenly spaced around the hat, every other row, will give the hat a decent dome shape. 8 decreases will give it a flatter shape.

You can experiment and try different stitch patterns, different numbers and types of decreases, and colorwork starting with this very basic design and create some pretty cool hats.

I'm going to have to give this a shot. Haven't made any hats in the round and this looks like a good way to start. Thanks!
