Has anyone used Elann's Sock It to Me? I'm on a pretty tight budget, and this is really cheap at about $4.50 to make a pair of socks, but I also want something that will be comfortable and somewhat long lasting. Any opinions on this? TIA:grphug:

$450.00 for a pair of socks doesn't seem that cheap to me. :noway: ;) :roflhard:

I don't have anything useful to add, but that yarn looks really nice. I haven't knit any socks yet and that looks like it could be a good yarn to try.

After a major "Duh" I looked it up on Ravelry. Oh the wonders of Ravelry! It's being used in 14 projects and has a rating of about 4.5 stars. So I went ahead and ordered enough for 6 pairs of socks.:teehee: Now to explain to DH why I need more yarn.

Where does it come from? I've never seen it!

You get it at Elann.com. Quite a few people on here have recommended them for yarn purchases. This is my first time using using them though. For the price, it's a nice way to get some practice with socks before investing in the more expensive brands.

I've already made socks, it's still a "steal"! I'm gonna give them a try too. Thank you for the address!

You are preparing for the Sock Yarn recession don't you know? It's a serious matter and you must be proactive in your approach!!! :)

I believe it very similar to Cascade fixation...with elastic in it..

And do you like Cascade fixation?

As far as I can tell there's no elastic in it. It's 75% superwash wool and 25% nylon. You may be thinking of their Esprit which is supposed to be exactly like the Cascade Fixation.

Thanks for the heads up on Elann yarn. I found some sock yarn in the bargain bin I liked, the Elann Esprit -98.3% cotton and 1.7% elastic. I saw a ton of socks made of this on Ravelry so I ordered a bag of 10 skeins of Phlox colorway and a bag of Angel Blue. I can now make 10 pr. of summer socks.
