Here's a photo of the scarf I just finished........http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3077/2290821939_1514f04044.jpg
The free pattern can be found here (http://christine.typepad.com/knitting/easy-drop-stitch-scarf-pa.html), and it can be made in any weight of yarn. I knitted this one using KnitPicks Gossamer laceweight merino, in the colorway, BlueJeans (discontinued).

I am in shock! I just this morning tried out the Seafoam stitch and here it is beautifully done!
My daughter has a convertible and I want to make her something to wear on her head to keep her hair from getting damaged. (This happened last year.) I think this might be the perfect solution. If I make it long enough she can tie it Princess Grace style.

Thanks for all of the compliments !
The yarn was really nice to work with, and even better, it's just the right warmth, so that I don't have to remove it when I'm indoors. In fact, I forget I have it on until I see it, and then when I remove it, I feel like my neck is ........nekkid ! :roflhard:
I think it would be wonderful for your daughter's convertible trips ! I tried putting this one on my head, but the 56 stitch version I started out with would have worked better for that.

Your scarf is just beautiful and seems like a quick project! The trick is finding the right yarn that will really show off the pattern. I love the verigated yarn. Thanks for posting!;)

That is a great scarf and the yarn really enhances the stitch pattern. Definitely on my to do list. I was at my LYS the other day and saw the perfect yarn! Now I can go back and buy it!

Wow! That looks really good. I love how you matched it with that black jacket. The blue-white color really POPS! and looks great. And it looks absolutely flawless... well done
I love this variation on the elongated stitch! Great to see a free pattern for it. Your photo looks great Dotty, nice job.

Thanks again..........I have another 60 grams or so of this yarn, and am looking to see what else I can make.........maybe just another one of these for the daughter this time. Although, I am considering adding fringe to this one.........what do you think? I didn't want to have to mess with straightening the fringe constantly, but I don't know now.
I love reading all of the quotes in your signatures !
Some funny, some inspiring !
