I have a new idea, I'm going to try it this weekend. I'm almost halfwway through my first cardigan, Veronik Avery's Oblique (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/oblique). I am a pretty monogamous knitter, meaning I work on mainly one project at a time. Although I love the cardi and the stitch pattern is interesting so I don't get bored I thought on weekends I might take a break from the MAJOR project and work on something a little less challenging and fun, like a scarf, I've been dying to make the Touch of Whimsy (http://whimsicalknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/10/touch-of-whimsy-scarf-pattern.html) scarf..............anyway, we'll see how that goes.

Have a happy and blessed weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!:waving:

FYI, in case you're new and don't know these patterns, here's what they look like:

I love the term "monogamous knitter." That's me too, except for our charity projects.

I'm not monogamous... i'm a very loose knitter ;)

Both patterns are gorgeous! I tend to like to have smaller projects going at the same time I have a big one on the needles. I get a sense of satisfaction being able to complete something (even if it's a washcloth!) and I still have a project that's portable if I need to take it somewhere. So while I'm not a monogamous knitter, I usually have only about 3 projects going at once ... I guess we're not counting all the project in our head we're just DYING to get to huh? LOL

Excellent patterns. I'm nowhere near there yet skillwise, but I'd certainly like to try the scarf (if no mistakes are in the pattern). I did look up the scarf pattern btw. Good luck with your projects!

Good luck with your projects! No errors. I was able to do about 7" on my first night, and that was while looking at the pattern AND watching a movie, which is tricky when you don't have a pattern memorized. I goofed on a couple of stitches, but nothing anyone will really notice.

I was a knitting fool all weekend, my goal was to finish the Touch of Whimsy scarf, which is the only thing I knitted on. I was short by probably an hour or less of knitting. So I consider it finished, because I wasted a few hours being sick on Saturday.

I am going to finish and block today and post a pic, it's a beautiful and fun scarf to make! Oh, and the author is a sweetheart, we PMed each other on Ravelry.

Great idea~ I like the idea of working on one project, but the reality..especially for long projects~not so much!

This sounds like a perfect solution-have fun!

(btw, love both the sweater and the scarf patterns!)
