I'm making the Boogie vest from www.knitty.com and I can't figure out this part. http://www.knitty.com/issuespring04/PATTboogie.html

I'm working on the front and it says:

Next row: K 21[23,27,31], work Row 1 of Cable Patt, K 21[23, 27, 31].
Next row: P 21[23, 27, 31], work Row 2 of Cable Patt, P 21[23, 27, 31].
Work even, maintaining continuity of established pattern until 13[13, 14, 15] inches from beg.

Okay, here is the cable pattern.....
Rows 1, 3, 7: P2, K6, P2, K6, P2.
Row 2 and all WS Rows: K2, P6, K2, P6, K2.
Row 5: P2, C6B, P2, C6F, P2.
Row 9: Repeat row 5.
Row 11,13,15: Repeat Row 1.
Row 16: K2, P6, K2, P6, K2.

Repeat rows 5 through 16 to work the cable pattern

I'm confused. I'm not sure if I know what they're telling me. Anyone have the patience to explain , work even until (15) inches from the beginning. I'm a little fuzzy about the phrase work even-?

Can someone clarify?

working even or straight for 15"s means work the item without any shaping (increases or decreases) for fifteen inches. That's all that means.:thumbsup:
Also when it says to "work even" keeping continuity of pattern that just means you keep doing the pattern rows and repeats without adding more stitches or taking away stitches at the sides.
