I am making the knitted sailboat dish cloth for a male friends new apt. I have found the one done by R. White, which I really like, but is there one w/out the heart on the sail? Or how do I edit the pattern to elimanate the heart? Thanks!!

There is one here near the bottom for $2.

It should be easy enough to do though. When you are at the point where the heart is just continue with your garter stitch (or whatever it is) till you get to the side of the sail and then continue the pattern as written.

If you can tell me what rows the heart is on I can translate better.

Thanks Jan. In the pattern I have (r.white) I believe the heart starts on row 27. I am still new to this, so having trouble reading patterns =)

Okay, I figured it out. The heart is between rows 27 and 33 so here is what you do to lose it. I think I write this out correctly.

27 - k3, p4, k6, p3, k1, p1, k12, p5, k3
28 - k all
29 - k3, p4, k6, p3, k1, p1, k11, p6, k3
30 - k all
31 - k3, p4, k6, p3, k1, p1, k11, p6, k3
32 - k all
33 - k3, p4, k6, p3, k1, p1, k10, p7, k3

And btw.. Welcome to the forum!
