I started increasing the length of a dishcloth to make a burp cloth. Will it be thick enough for baby burp-up? It's a slightly tight stockinette with a knit/purled pattern in the middle and garter stitch edging.

I think that depends on the yarn you are using. I am making burp cloths using peaches and cream and I think it wis plenty thinck enough.
